At the time of the incident, a commemoration of a late Afghan Shiite leader was held in the mosque. According to local media, the three people were not injured in the attack.
Afghan Ministry of the Interior media office said on social media that the mortar shells were launched from a building in the 18th police district of Kabul. After the attack, one person was arrested.
