Four soldiers killed at a checkpoint in eastern Burkina Faso

Xinhua News Agency, Lomei, February 16th, Ouagadougou News: The security department of Burkina Faso confirmed on the evening of 15th that a military checkpoint in the eastern part of the country was attacked by a group of unidentified armed men on the same day. At least 4 checkpoint soldiers died.

The security department of the cloth revealed to Xinhua News Agency that about 10 unidentified armed elements raided the military checkpoint on the 15th and killed four checkpoint soldiers.

No organization or individual has claimed to have created this attack.

Since 2015, the Burkina Faso attacks have been frequent and the security situation is grim. In March 2018, the Armed Forces headquarters in the capital, Ouagadougou, and the French Embassy in Burkina Faso were attacked by unidentified armed men, killing eight soldiers. In January 2019, at the headquarters of the anti-terrorist unit of the country, at least four soldiers were killed.

On the 4th of this month, the Bu military announced that it would kill 146 terrorists in a joint air and land strike in the north of the country and said that the military strikes will continue.
