Manas International Airport is the largest airport in Kyrgyzstan, 23 kilometers northwest of Bishkek city. Before 2014, the US Air Force established a transit transportation center at the airport.
According to the Kyrgyz National News Agency, after the Manas International Airport entered a state of emergency, the personnel were evacuated and the police conducted a comprehensive inspection. Videographs taken by witnesses showed that passengers and airport staff were evacuated to the parking lot in the south of the terminal, the road to the airport was blocked, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs lined up to enter the airport.
The police did not find explosives and suspicious items on the aircraft buildings and on the docked aircraft. At approximately 17:40 local time, Manas International Airport resumed normal operation.
